In this week’s Overheard in Yoga Class, Marc Holzman explains one of the reasons we have a yoga practice: sometimes it’s hard to go out in the real world and tell ourselves to be compassionate on the outside, but when we practice yoga, we start to make a shift on the deepest level so that quality of compassion and seeing that connection become a permanent, ongoing, way of being, rather than being something that has to be sort of forcefully imposed from the outside.
