In this week’s Overheard in Yoga Class, Jo Tastula explains that it’s so easy to be compassionate towards things outside of ourselves, but when it comes to ourself, we often have these unreasonable standards. Especially in yoga where it’s easy to beat ourselves up over not being able to do a posture as well as we’d like to. She reminds us that in times like these, we should take a step back and remind ourselves that it’s not about performing in the posture, it’s about really being kind to ourselves and meeting up to our limitations with an open heart and feeling that vulnerable spot.
