Whether you are new to yoga or have been practicing for many years, we all have a “moment.” A moment where something shifted and our practice allowed us to see ourselves and the world around us in a different way. A moment where we fell out of a pose and laughed and it was everything. A moment that showed us we’re stronger than we realized. A moment where we finally kicked up into headstand on our own and couldn’t believe it. A moment where we could finally let it all go and just be.
That “moment” is different for everyone and this summer we want to celebrate YOUR yoga moments. We also want to acknowledge the many yoga studios all over the world that make so many incredible yoga moments possible. Want to share your yoga moment with us? Here’s how.
This week’s Yoga Moment comes from Brittany Lipowski during her practice at Simplicity Yoga Studio in Kings Park, NY.
“I saved the yoga moment email, debating what my moment should be. Until this morning when I knew exactly what to write.
I recently started working at my yoga studio (Simplicity Yoga Studio in Kings Park NY), behind the desk. I’ve been practicing there for almost two years now. I love everything about the people and the teachers. Roseanne the owner is amazing and I was honored when she asked me to help out. I work three days a week, taking a class on those three days and one class on the weekend. It has helped me deepen my practice. I have been working on my headstand for a little while now. Trying to figure out how to get away from the wall. Today in class only one other person showed up so it ended up being a semi private session (my favorite). I got up into my headstand and didn’t use the wall for the first time. I was so excited I wanted to jump up and down. I was happy to share that moment with my teacher who I love and who knows I’ve been working towards it. Yoga has changed my life and I am thankful everyday that I unrolled a mat two and a half years ago.”
