When we notice someone walk by who has that “special something,” what is it that we are truly seeing? Is it that they are in great shape? Well dressed? Smart? Beautiful? It’s hard to put a finger on, but when we sift through it, we almost always land on the fact that those people project an aura of confidence.
Confidence isn’t easy to possess. We can’t buy it, we can’t “work hard on it,” and it’s useless to fake it. But in so many ways, it’s at the root of our desires. We may think we need to have more or look better, but those things don’t land if we don’t have confidence. And the moment we do feel confident, all of a sudden, none of those other things matter.
While confidence is a headspace, we know that our minds and bodies are deeply connected. When we’re not feeling good about ourselves, we hunch forward—literally protecting our hearts—get small, and hope no one notices us. When we stand tall, it is an embodiment of a strong spirit and an open heart.
Sometimes confidence can begin with simply changing your state of mind and allowing your body to follow. But for those times when you just can’t turn your mood around, you can try making the change in your body first. Change your posture, get physically strong, and start radiating, then before you know it, you have a spring in your step! Confidence is both self-perpetuating and completely magnetic. Once you get going, people will be drawn to you, and next thing you know—you’re feeling pretty good about yourself.
Most of us could use a confidence boost from time to time. These classes will have you standing a little taller and feeling a little brighter as you move about your world.
