GLO Teachers: Yoga and Fitness Experience Amy Rosoff Davis is redefining the “dream body” Embrace Self-Love: My Journey to Fitness Freedom I’m excited to share my journey as one of Glo’s newest trainers! With over 20 years of experience as a dancer, yogi, fitness enthusiast, and Pilates devotee, I’ve always been passionate about health and wellness. Initially, I focused on acting, but 11 years ago, I decided to transform my love for fitness into a full-time career rather than a mere hobby. From Pilates Studio to Personal Brand I kicked off my teaching career at a Pilates studio in Los Angeles. Gradually, I started working with some high-profile clients, which allowed me to develop my own brand centered around a holistic approach to self-love—nurturing the body, mind, and soul with a strong emphasis on becoming the best version of yourself. Redefining My Fitness Journey Movement has always been a big part of my life, and I’ve pushed myself hard in workouts for years. My typical routine would involve warming up on the elliptical for 30 minutes or more, followed by intense classes like kickboxing or step aerobics that promised maximum sweat. I believed that fitness had to be a struggle, and I often felt guilty for taking a rest day. While it wasn’t a toxic relationship, it certainly lacked warmth. Despite all that effort, I was never satisfied with my body. Sure, it was strong and flexible from nearly two decades of dancing, but I often felt uncomfortable in my skin. Shifting to a Mindset of Self-Love Everything changed after a significant life event prompted me to rethink my approach. I began to work out not just for results, but to genuinely feel good. Exercise transformed from an obligation to a joy. I learned to take rest days whenever I needed them, returning to my mat or Pilates machine with a renewed sense of focus and love. Instead of being a drill sergeant to my muscles, I became grateful for their capabilities and started caring for them in a kinder way. A New Approach to Pilates and Yoga Let me clarify: my Pilates and yoga sessions are still challenging, and I thrive on a good sweat. However, my mindset is now gentler and far more enjoyable. Once I stopped relentlessly grinding away on the elliptical and focused my heart on my practice, I discovered a new sense of grounding. This shift allowed me to cultivate a deeper love for myself and my body. It was during this transformative phase that I also found my life partner! The Power of Mindset in Physical Transformation The connection between my body and my practice became clear: when my mindset shifted to one of self-love, my body followed suit. When you exercise for yourself—focusing on feeling good, strong, and healthy—the results can be astounding. You’ll experience incredible changes and achieve the body of your dreams. Remember, your dream body is unique to you; it’s not a specific shape but a shape that you love! Isn’t it beautiful how diverse we all are? Rediscovering Myself After Motherhood Now, as a mom of two, I feel more empowered than ever. My youngest is just five months old, and while I may not be where I was a year ago, my appreciation for my body has only grown. After carrying two children, I’ve returned to all the workouts that once defined my strength. However, this time, I refuse to be chained to the gym—I embrace my newfound freedom. The Importance of Self-Acceptance Love your body just as it is! While you can change many things about yourself, sometimes it’s vital to let go of what no longer serves you. For me, this meant releasing my attachment to results and enjoying the journey instead. Isn’t that a beautiful metaphor for life? Looking Ahead I’m sending all my love your way and can’t wait to help you reach your fitness goals! Let’s embark on this journey together, embracing self-love and all the incredible transformations it brings. Get ready to challenge yourself—you’ve got this!
